Associate Underwriter (Entry Level) Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-friendly individual eager to kick-start their career in Underwriting. This role is based in our West Des Moines office and offers a unique opportunity to dive into the dynamic world of insurance.

Associate Underwriter (Entry Level) Responsibilities:

  • Rating and Underwriting: Actively engage in the rating and underwriting of commercial auto policies, ensuring adherence to established guidelines.
  • Mid-Term Endorsements: Efficiently manage and implement mid-term endorsements to meet customer needs.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to agent customers through timely and accurate responses. This role demands extensive interaction with agents to fulfill their service requirements.

A Day in the Life:

  • You will be the go-to person for retail agents, responding promptly to phone or email inquiries.
  • You will play a key role in adjusting existing commercial auto insurance policies according to underwriting guidelines and procedures.
  • Your day will be filled with teamwork, encouraging collaboration and creativity to meet and exceed our agent customers’ expectations.

Associate Underwriter (Entry Level) Requirements:

  • A 4-year college degree in a relevant field.
  • A commitment to obtaining a Commercial/Personal Lines Insurance Agent license.
  • The ability to juggle multiple duties and organize data for swift underwriting decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills are paramount.
  • Prior insurance experience is highly valued and preferred.
